The Dancing Willow (5-Intermediate)

$6.99

Ireland is a country rich with stories and superstitions, myths and legends. We have all heard of shamrocks and leprechauns, but how about dancing trees? On a morning stroll along the Shannon River, a willow tree catches our attention. As we draw closer, we hear music. The tree extends a branch and invites us to dance along, first slowly, and then quickly: a full-on jig! We thank the tree, it bows back… did this really happen? Fast Fact: The final melody line is inspired by Edvard Grieg’s Symphonic Dance Op. 64 No. 3.

Score Length: 4 pages

Composed in 2016
