Orkhon River Journey (5-Intermediate, for piano & cello)

$6.99

The Orkhon River rises in the Khangai Mountains and flows into Mongolia’s famed Orkhon Valley. In 2004 this region was added to UNESCO’s “World Heritage List.” Now, this land provides habitat to an array of wildlife including wolves, Siberian roe and musk deer, Corsac foxes, snow leopards, Siberian ibex, the Pallas’s cat, and the famed saker falcon, a bird that has been used in falconry for thousands of years. In this piece, the piano represents the flow of the river, and the cello represents the falcon, soaring above the river. Along the way, we admire the beautiful scenery, abundance of animals, and village scenes, and enjoy learning about the history and folklore of this mystical land.
