This work pays tribute to Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, who is famed for revolutionizing the traditional tango style of his country in his compositions, blending it with classical and jazz. His music has been loved by audiences around the world (check out “Le Grande Tango,” “Oblivion,” and “Libertango”). The catchy rhythmic ostinato and dark harmonies lure us into the world of this intense dance.
